Comprehensive Clinic on Urological Problems & Kidney Stones18-March-2017
Hemas Hospital Wattala Organized a “Suwanena” public Lecture on “Urine problems & Kidney Stones ” along with a comprehensive Urological Clinic for the residents in Negombo & surrounding areas on 18th March 2017. Dr. Aruna Indaka Nandasena Consultant Urological Surgeon attached to Hemas Hospitals headed the clinic with over 120 participants attending the clinic to obtain the services. Further in addition to the lecture, free medicine & further consultation were provided to all the participants.
Public lecture at Kotahena11-March-2017
Hemas Hospital carried out a clinic and awareness session on Non Communicable Diseases on 11th March 2017 at Deepaduttaramaya Temple Kotahena. The lecture on NCD was delivered by the consultant Physician Dr. Achala Balasuriya attached to Hemas Hospital Wattala. Parallel to the event hospital provided free glucometer testing, medicines and the support of a panel of medical officers to examine the patients who had various issues. Over 100 people attended the clinic and participants were also given discount vouchers on selected services from Wattala Hospital.

Hemas Hospitals join hands with Police Station Kiribathgoda to organize a Health Camp at Kiribathgoda Sri Sudarshanarama Purana Vihara on 26th November 2016. Hemas Hospital provided free Glucometer testing, Visual acuity check-up, Consultation by medical officers and free medicine for all the participants. Over 200 people participated for the health camp and commended the special efforts of Hemas Hospitals as a true community hospital.
Accident Prevention & Emergency Patient Handling Awareness For Members of Kiribathgoda Three-Wheel Association26-November-2016
Hemas Hospitals together with the Police Station, Kiribathgoda carried out a special program on First Aid , Accidents & Emergency Management to members of Kiribathgoda Three wheel Association on 26th November 2016. The program was held at Kiribathgoda Police Station premises and over 120 members participated and went through the initial awareness session. Further Hemas Hospital ETU branded stickers on “Accident Prevention” were pasted on their three-wheelers & distributed 1000 stickers among other members of the three wheel association to embark the joint project on accident prevention by Both Hemas Hospital & Kiribathgoda Traffic Police.
World children’s day celebrations08-October-2016
Hemas hospital Wattala celebrated the world children’s day on 8th October with a group of kids from Ragama and Pamnugama child development centers. This program was conducted with the approval of the department of probation and child care services. The event was filled with various entertainment items organized by the kids and all the of them were given gifts and other necessary items courtesy of Hemas hospitals.
Blood Donation Campaign 201624-September-2016
Annual blood donation campaign of Hemas Hospital Wattala was held on 24th September 2016 for the 6th consecutive year at Hemas Hospital premises. The campaign was jointly organized by National Blood Transfusion Service with the support of North Colombo Teaching Hospital. Around 150 donors took a part in the event.

The lecture on gastritis was delivered by the consultant gastroenterologist Dr. Jayani Manchanayke attached to North Colombo Teaching Hospital Ragama. The lecture was followed by an awareness session on healthy food habits by Ms. Nilushi Mudalige, Dietician attached to Hemas Hospital and a free examination clinic on gastrointestinal disorders. Over 100 residents from the area participated the event.

Hemas Hospital Wattala conducted a comprehensive Joint pains clinic on 21st March 2015 in Kribathgoda YMBA Hall premises. The clinic was headed by Dr. Chinthaka Wijedasa, orthopedic surgeon attached to Welisara Navy Hospital.
Dr. Chinthaka Wijedasa responded to the questions raised by the public on various joint related issues and examined the patients who had related problems. Hemas Hospital Wattala provided physiotherapy services, Medicine and the support of a panel of medical officers to examine the patients. Over 300 people attended the clinic and participants were also given discount vouchers on selected services from Wattala Hospital.

An Alms giving ceremony was held on the 05th of March 2013 in celebration of the 4th Year anniversary of Hemas Southern Hospital. More than fifty monks humbled us with their presence at our hospital on this momentous day. The religious leaders of all temples were offered a special free ambulance service in the event of a medical emergency.

Hemas Southern Hospital organised a Health Camp jointly with International Association Lions Club District 306A, on 27th of November 2012.The project was organised as a a "Multi Service Project" at Pitigala consisting of Medical Camp, an Eye Camp, a Cancer Detection Camp, a HIV / AIDs Awareness Seminar and a Public Service Camp.
It was organised at a Garment factory in Pitigala for the employees and their families. Over 500 employee families in the general area attended the Health camp. Through the programme we were able to enrich many lives in Pitigala.

The Staff of Hemas Southern Hospital joined the Diabetes Awareness walk organised by Karapitiya Teaching Hospital on 13th November 2012. This programme was organised to commemorate the World Diabetes Day. There was significant staff participation for the walk which was followed by educational programmes on Diabetes at Hall de Galle. The walk attracted the attention of the local community to the extent that it was broadcasted in the media and covered in the local newspapers creating awareness among the public on Diabetes.

Hemas Hospital organized a public lecture in Kiribathgoda on 2nd March 2012.The lectures were carried out by Dr. Kamal Gunarathne, consultant Neurophysiologist attached to Kandy teaching hospital and Dr. Sanjeewa Wijekoon, Consultant physician attached to Kalubowila Teaching hospital. The topics covered were "numbness" and “fever” by Dr. Kamal Gunarathne and Dr. Sanjeewa Wijekoon respectively. A record participation of over 125 people from the area attended the event.
